Aurora Ruiz Mezcua

Aurora Ruiz Mezcua studied Translation and Interpreting at the University of Málaga (Spain), where she completed her Ph.D. in Specialized Translation and Interpreting Studies with a dissertation called “Simultaneous Interpreting Equipment and its Didactical Implications”. This was the first step to the publication of most of her papers and books, like “Apuntes sobre la interpretación simultánea: nacimiento y primeros pasos” or “Interpretación y Formación para los Centros Sanitarios Españoles”. She teached Spanish in York College (UK) for a school-year. She has also worked as a translator for Hermes Traducciones y Servicios Linguisticos and as a freelance translator and interpreter for two years. Since 2008/09 she has been working as a lecturer at Córdoba University (Spain), where she has been teaching Simultaneous and Consecutive Interpretation French-Spanish, English-Spanish and now Interpretation Techniques. She also teaches in the Master of Specialized Translation at UCO and Master in Translation and New Technologies: software translation and Multimedia products at the Instituto Superior de Traducción (Seville).
